Abby's Apps: Ridesharing Apps

This week, the holiday season is officially in swing, meaning mulled wine, eggnog and parties galore.

And if you're going to get into the spirit by partaking in spirits, you should never choose to drive.

On this week's Abby's Apps, we take a look at ride sharing app options that could help keep your holidays merry and bright.

Abby's Apps: Ride Sharing Apps

Of the ride sharing apps available, Lyft and Uber are the most popular and the most reliable. But rather than choose one of the two I like to use them simultaneously.

This way you can compare prices and wait times.

For a cheaper fare, Lyft is typically the best option by a few dollars for rides in town.

There are some safety tips to keep in mind while using these apps.

Always make sure the car has the ride share app's official sticker on the front before you get in.

Speak with your driver. Always ask the driver who the ride is for and the driver's name before entering the vehicle.

Never ride alone and let others know where you're traveling and that you'll be using a rideshare.

Both apps will allow you to track your ride while its in progress and rate your drivers for continuous improvement.
