This morning on GMA, Dave Baker sat down to chat with Jerri Hodges about a fun event to celebrate Father’s Day weekend.

The Family Tree is hosting their 2019 Family Fun Day! The organization is kicking off the Father’s Day weekend with Picnic with Pops.

This fun filled event will be held on Friday, June 14th, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at Covenant United Methodist Church in Lafayette.

Thanks to an ongoing partnership with Covenant UMC and their sponsor, Healthy Blue, you will be able to enjoy a fun filled evening with food, fun, face painting, games, door prizes, and new this year…a movie!!

That’s right, this year’s event will be Friday evening and you will get to enjoy a family friendly movie with the favorite man in your life. Dads and other important male role models are so important to the family unit and we think a movie and picnic is the best way to kick off your weekend celebrating the important men in your child’s life. So bring your blankets, bring your chairs, and be prepared to have a great time!!

This super fun family friendly outdoor event is FREE and open to the public. There will be a fun jump and 68 ft. obstacle course from Jumpin Jax, LLC, face painting by Ali Roberts, arts and crafts and other fun games and activities provided to you by local agencies such as, Willow Charter Academy, RISE Chiropractic, Eckerd Connects, YMCA of Acadiana, Macaroni Kid Lafayette, Nurse Family Partnership and many more! There will also be great dad themed door prizes, so come on out and help celebrate the important men in our lives! No pre-registration required.

Movie will begin around dusk. Please remember, no smoking and no pets.
