Today, Dave Baker sat down with Robert LeBon, President of the Acadiana Area for Veterans. He was here to tell us about a memorial service coming up this Monday on Memorial Day.
On Monday, May 27, 2019, at 9:00 am, Fountain Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery in Lafayette, located at 1010 Pandora Street, will host its Annual Memorial Day Program. The program will include a service in the veteran’s section of Fountain Memorial Cemetery featuring veteran honor guards, a speaker, and patriotic musical selections.
The service will be honoring those who have fallen to defend our community and country. There will be different veteran groups at the event. The organizers want to make sure that those who have fallen are honored and are not forgotten.
This event is open to the public and lawn chairs are welcomed/ encouraged.
The memorial service will last approximately one hour. A reception in the funeral home lounge will follow the service where cake, coffee, and punch will be served. This opportunity is to give everyone a chance to visit and share stories of their loved ones.
Acadiana Area for Veterans is also looking for volunteers to help put flags by veteran graves for the event.
