Hunting and fishing is a relaxing past time for many in Acadiana. Today, we learned about how that outdoor therapy is used to support veterans. Dave Baker sat down with Courtney Wiggins from Wounded War Heroes of Acadiana and Deron Santiny, a senior veteran, to find out how you can help!

Wounded War Heroes was founded to show appreciation to the men and women who have been wounded while in combat, by providing them therapeutic outdoor experiences upon their return home from fighting for our country. Their sole purpose is to show these veterans that they are not forgotten for their courageous service to our nation.

The 2nd annual Acadiana Fundraising Banquet for wounded war heroes will be on Saturday, May 25th, from 5:00 pm until 11:00 pm. The Veterans tribute and fundraising banquet will be held at the Acadiana Event Center in Scott.

The night will be filled with activities, such as a presentation about the organization, a live auction, a silent auction, dinner, drinks, music, dancing, and more!

Doors will open at 5:00 pm and dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. A presentation honoring our Veterans will be held at 7:00 pm. An open bar will be available with the purchase of a $10 raffle cup!

The auctions and raffles being held are for items such as guns, trips, and memorabilia.

The dress code is casual, camo, or patriotic. Come and be a part of this patriotic event as everyone honors all Wounded War Heroes! There will be no tickets at the door, so make sure to purchase them in advanced!
