Acadiana Center for the Arts to hold the first annual “Art of 5K”

Creativity is running free through downtown Lafayette this May! Today, Dave Baker chatted about the “Art of 5K” with Evan Daniels from Acadiana Center of the Arts.

The first annual Art of 5K will take place through art-filled downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods of Lafayette, LA. The event is another way to support Acadiana Center for the Art’s work bringing art to students in 77 public schools in Lafayette, St. Landry and Vermillion Parishes.

The event includes a T-shirt, music, food, and drinks.T-shirts are first come, first serve and may be limited during packet pickup the day of. Dress up as your favorite artist or piece of art for the race! Race day registration will be available on-site starting at 6:30 am.

The 5K will take place on May 11, 2019 at 8:30 am throughout downtown Lafayette. Race day registration will be available on-site starting at 6:30 am.

Medals will be awarded to the 1st & 2nd male and female finishers in the overall category. Medals will also be awarded to the 1st & 2nd male and female finishers in each age category. The team with the most participants receive complimentary Acadiana Center for the Arts Fellow Memberships. The best-dressed costumes will win $25 Tsunami gift cards.

Not a Runner? Sign up for the 0K Party! Join Lafayette’s shortest race – the 0K! The 0K starts just thirty minutes after the 5K. Walk up to the starting line and then enjoy the best part of a 5K – the post-race festivities. The 0K entices the everyday person to partake in a fundraiser with the thrill of no training and no running.

Registration fee is $35 for either race, and is increased to $40 for registration on race day.
