Ready your bellies! The 34th Annual Etouffee Festival kicks off on Friday in Arnaudville.

The free, 3-day festival, located at St. John Francis Regis Church in Arnaudville, pays homage to one of Louisiana’s traditional dishes.

KATC’s Abby Breidenbach spoke with this year’s royalty who also happen to be Etouffee Festival experts.

Friday gets things started with music from bands Sweet Cecilia at 5:30 pm, Matt James & The Southern Drifters at 7:30 pm, and Louisiana Red at 10:00 pm.

The heat gets turned up on Saturday when the festival cook-off gets underway. The Mayor’s Cook-off will feature etouffee of all types including crawfish, seafood, vegetable, and wild game. Judging begins at 11:30 am.

Once guests are all “etouffee’d out” the fun continues with carnival rides, music, dancing, bingo, an auto show and a chance to shop for antiques on Saturday and Sunday.
