Rebecca Richard and A.J. Smith with Cajun Comic Relief dropped by the show this morning to chat, or “joke” about Cajun Comic Relief.

Begun by Jim Richard in 1992 as a fundraiser for Lafayette Catholic Service Center, Cajun Comic Relief has become one of the area’s most successful and enduring charity events. Over the past 25 years, it has raised more than $1.2 million for local non-profit organizations. Other beneficiaries have included Goodwill Industries, Mission Vets, the D.R.E.A.M. Foundation, and Hospice of Acadiana.

This year, the event will support the Down Syndrome Association of Acadiana.

The comics being featured are Horace Trahan & the Ossun Express, AJ Smith, Ed Roy, and John Paul Morgan.

Cajun Comic Relief will be taking place at the Heymann Center on March 16th. The event kicks off at 5pm with the comics starting at 6pm.
