Beads Galore in Lafayette says they’ve been busy this Mardi Gras season, supplying Louisiana krewes with beads and throws for their upcoming parades.

KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was LIVE at the store this morning to get an idea of just how much business suppliers around the region are receiving.

Store manager Chris Benoit says that business began picking up on January 12 with the kick off of the first Lafayette ball.

People from New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lake Charles, and even Texas have been making stops at the store.

Benoit says that hopefully items like the “penalty flag throw,” which keeps the missed call that kept the New Orleans Saints from the Super Bowl alive, will be a top seller this year.

With warehouses full, Benoit says that new shipments of beads come in daily. A normal buy for many participating in parades is about 5 to 10 cases of beads per person. Chris shares a little of his expertise in how to get the most out of bead and throw purchases.

Beads Galore is located at 4909 Cameron Street in Lafayette. To find out more about them and their supplies visit beadsgalore.net or call 337-344-7211.
