On Friday, November 30 in Lafayette, the 25th annual Festival of Lights will take over the Oil Center from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was LIVE this morning in the Oil Center with a preview of the lights and all the festivities.

The Festival of Lights kicks-off the holiday season in Lafayette with its 25th anniversary of the lighting ceremony. The event will feature several activities including photos with Santa, sleigh rides, Christmas train rides and the lighting of Santa’s sleigh above the Lafayette General Sky Walk beginning at 6:00 pm.

Admission is free, but activities and food will require the purchase of tickets. Tickets are $1 and family packs can be purchased in advance. To purchase tickets, click here.

What’s a holiday festival without a few special guests? Abby Breidenbach got all the details this morning with Mrs. Claus and Walter Miller from the Music Academy of Acadiana. Three stages will be set up around the festival grounds with entertainment including storytelling and live music.
