Longfellow Evangeline State Historic Site is proud to announce its’ first annual Living History Demonstration event “Back in the Day: A Celebration of Folk Traditions,” held Saturday, November 3rd, 2018, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Along with a costumed guide, visitors can tour Maison Olivier, an 1815 raised Creole cottage plantation home and enjoy manicured grounds throughout the Site.There will also be live music and various demonstrations including blacksmithing, circle dancing, chair caning, soap/syrup production, spinning/weaving and much more. Standard entrance fees of $4.00 (ages 4-61) applies. Longfellow Evangeline is conveniently located just off Highway 31 in St. Martinville, at 1200 N.
