Across Acadiana, we often celebrate French culture. But in Acadia Parish, in the small community of Roberts Cove, there’s an annual celebration of German heritage in South Louisiana.
KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was LIVE from Roberts Cove this morning with a preview of this year’s Germanfest events.
The Germanfest begins on Saturday, October 6 at 9:30 am with an opening ceremony and will continue until Sunday, October 7. The festival will offer a weekend of Bavarian food, music and dance along with an important German staple, beer.
Admission is $8 for attendees 13 years of age and older. Germanfest will be held on the grounds of St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove.
