The 30th annual Le Cajun Awards and Music Festival begins tonight at La Poussiere’s Authentic Cajun Dance Hall in Breaux Bridge.

The three-day event hosted by the Cajun French Music Association beings on Thursday, August 16 at La Poussiere’s in Breaux Bridge and continues on Friday and Saturday at the Rayne Civic Center.
The festival is the only in the state that showcases traditional Cajun French Music and honors the musicians who play and create it. The annual event honors those musicians for their endeavors to elevate Cajun music over the previous year.
During the festival, the 2018 Cajun Music Hall of Fame inductees will be announced and other awards will be presented to members of the Cajun French Music community.
Doors open tonight at La Poussiere at 5:00 pm with the event beginning at 6:00 pm.
Admission for tonight’s event is free.
The festival continues at the Rayne Civic Center at 5:00 pm on Friday and 8:00 am on Saturday. The entrance fee is $10 per person. Children under 12 get in for free.
