This morning, KATC’s Abby Breidenbach was live with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra with details on their upcoming 34th season.

The Acadiana Symphony Orchestra will open their 34th Season in September with a long list of unique performances. This season will be entitled Orchestrating Passion.

Opening night will be on Friday, September 28 with a performance of Orff’s Carmina Burana at the Heymann Performing Arts Center. The evening will include accompaniment with the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Chorales des Amis, and vocal solos by Luis Ledesma, Andrea Mouton, and David Shaler.

Season tickets are available for the list of great events at the orchestra’s website at acadianasymphony.org.

The list this year includes performances of “Mozart in Love” in collaboration with the University of Louisiana Opera Department in October, the orchestra’s Christmas concert entitled “Celebrating Christmas” with the Lost Bayou Ramblers, and a season finale of Music and Faith in July 2019 featuring Lauren Daigle.

Symphony favorites like “Symphony in the Sky” will be held on October 3 in Downtown Lafayette.

Two additional special presentations will happen during the upcoming season including “The Music of Led Zeppelin & Zebra” and a “Harry Potter In Concert Series.”

The orchestra says that season ticket holders will receive pre-sale access to the two additional shows.
