Earth Day will be celebrated around the world this weekend. Here in Acadiana, Vermilionville in Lafayette will be holding activities for the entire family to learn about and celebrate the Earth.

KATC’s Abby Breidenbach is LIVE this morning at Vermilionville with a look at what’s in store for this weekend’s Earth Day Celebration.

The event begins at 10 am on Sunday, April 22 and admission is free.

Activities include crafts, yoga, canoeing, clothing swap, tree-give aways, discussion, food demonstrations, a Clothes & Jewelry Fix-It café, and boat tours.

A Poker Run begins at 11 am with check-in at 10:30 am at Hub City Cycles. Those who register will bike from Hub City Cycles and arrive at the Earth Day Celebration for 2 pm.
