Built in 1840 the Trowbridge House in Franklin was the dream home for Chad Boutte and Steven Mora.
"It was just a feeling, truly once we walked in, we just realized this was the house for us.", says Boutte." Mora adds, "It was one of those things that you know this is your home forever and you have to have it!" Boutte says, "There was incredible sense of just peace, tranquility and the space was fantastic for us as well."
What they didn't know, was neighbors, and those who grew up in Franklin, thought there were ghosts living there too!
Eugene Foulcard, the Mayor of Franklin remembers, "We would always trick or treat in this area, we would always tip toe on the stairs because it was always a bone of contention of the ghosts and goblins around the Trowbridge House."
"We thought it was funny because we didn't feel anything funny in here. And we thought this was tales and legends. It's gotta be fake, because we don't feel any of it. But then we started having experiences!" exclaims Mora.
Meeting with the team of Louisiana Spirits, Marci Lee, the State Director says, "I absolutely believe there is activity in this home. It's a lot of positive energy it seems like a lot of love, kindness, I don't think there's anything negative in this home at all."
She says the owners' experiences started with a portrait.
Mora explains how is started. "I brought this portrait or a female. I don't know who she is, I know she's from Tennessee. So there's this gap between the picture and the mantle, and we're trying to figure out what we need to do. So I asked Chad, can you go get that mantle clock from the other room. Now the clocks that we have are antiques, they haven't worked for years, they've never worked. All of a sudden, that clock starts ticking. And it's like a heart beat. You know, like tick tick, tick tick, tick tick. Then all of a sudden, this clock starts chiming. I was like, what's going on?? He says, do you think we're having our first experience? Yes! We're having our first experience!!"
Now the fellas may have had their nerves rattled, but what about the pros?
Lee confidently says, "If we hear something, we're going toward it. We're not going to run from it. Because, that's why we're here. We're here to find out what it is!"
Boutte isn't worried though. "I was not the biggest believer of paranormal activity. I always loved a great ghost story growing up, but when you experience it for the first time on the level that you know, absolutely, one hundred percent, that you've had this experience, you realize that we're surrounded by spirits. But there's nothing harmful to us right now, so we're going to try to coexist and to do our very best to make this as peaceful as possible."
