St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers is asking for help from the public in solving a burglary in the Opelousas area.
On September 13, 2020, deputies were notified of an Opelousas Police unit burglary on the 100 block of Milo Lane, according to the St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers spokesperson.
Between the night of September 12 and 13 unknown suspects entered the 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe police unit by breaking the passenger side window. Stolen was a Bushmaster AR-15 .223 rifle serial number L305619, nearly 400 rounds of .223, and approximately 50 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition.
A witness reported that several other police items were located in a nearby ditch.
