Crowley homicide suspect arrested after feature on Acadia Crime Stoppers

Detectives with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office say that 19-year-old Belvin John Savoy has been arrested. Savoy was featured on a recent segment of Acadia Crimes Stoppers. Detectives were seeking the public’s assistance in locating Savoy.

Savoy was wanted in connection with the December 18th homicide of James Francis.

Savoy is accused of shooting Francis after an altercation in the Kathy Apartment Complex. Francis suffered a single gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A warrant was secured for Belvin Savoy for second-degree murder following an investigation into the homicide.

Savoy was arrested and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on a charge of Second-degree murder. His bond is set at $350,000.
