Acadia Crime Stoppers asking for help in solving homicide

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish is still searching for the suspect in a homicide which occurred Sunday, April 22, 2018, in the early morning hours on Interstate 10 near Duson.

Investigators with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating the shooting death of Darrell J. Singleton, 31 of Breaux Bridge. Singleton was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 just before 3 a.m. when multiple shots were fired at his vehicle. Singleton’s vehicle exited the roadway where he was discovered dead from gunshot wounds. Investigators say Singleton was targeted by his assailants, thus this was not a random act. Investigators also believe that problems may have originated in the Breaux Bridge area where Singleton resides, according to Sheriff KP Gibson.
