St. Landry Crime Stoppers: Halloween safety

Posted
and last updated

St. Landry Crime Stoppers, Det. Eric Reed of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office and Michelle Trahan of Acadian Total Security, want this Halloween to be a safe and enjoyable one.

It is a time when you need to know what homes your children should or should not approach when trick or treating.

Sex offender information is available on local law enforcement websites and is immediately available to you in real time.

For residents of St. Landry Parish, go to slpsheriff.com and click on the “How Do I” tab and the “Sex Offender” link will allow you to search an address and see a map of the offenders living within a five-mile radius of the address you specify.

Sign up to receive an email alert should an offender move within a specified radius of any address you register.

Offender details are available and highlight the physical description, conviction, and a map of the offenders’ approximate address.

Law enforcement will have additional units assigned to extra patrol during the night. Report all incidents to your local law enforcement agency.
