Cheese is pretty great, right? On its own, as a topping, as a filling — its versatility is one of its greatest strengths. But have you considered cheese as an interior design option?
A United Kingdom-based chain of bistros is celebrating the launch of its latest menu with The Cheese Suite: A hotel room that’s completely cheese-themed, from the decor to the snacks to the bathroom amenities.
Café Rouge set up the suite as an homage to fromage (sorry) to be shared with lucky contest winners, according to the London Evening Standard. As they note in their Instagram post announcing the promotion, the suite is located in London’s cool Camden Town neighborhood:
The “hotel room” is actually an apartment that’s been converted into a cheese-lover’s paradise. But it has some of the same perks as a hotel room, like room service (an on-demand “cheese hotline”), a Café Rouge meal voucher, wine-and-cheese snacks on hand and complimentary cheese-scented toiletries.
“We wanted to give the nation somewhere new and exciting to be totally immersed in one of their favorite foods in none other than a cheese-themed hotel suite, while also trying some of our winter dishes from the comfort of the sofa,” Jacqueline Fletcher, Café Rouge’s head of marketing, told the Daily Mail.
The whole experience is free of charge to the invited guests, though according to the Café Rouge website, the overnight stay must take place on the night of Feb. 7.
Sadly, for the cheese-lovers of North America this drawing is off-limits; it’s open to U.K. residents only. But if you know someone across the pond who’d love to live the life of Limburger, they can enter the drawing here through Jan. 21.
Interestingly, Café Rouge is also using this month to promote its “Veganuary” tea menu, a totally cheese-free selection of vegan dishes for folks working on a New Year’s reset. But as February approaches, it’s cheese-hotel time.
So, who’s ready for some night cheese?
