It’s that time of year again: Girl Scout cookie season! As eager pint-sized entrepreneurs tempt their neighbors and loved ones with Thin Mints and Samoas, Build-A-Bear is joining in on the fun with a brand-new bear in their Girl Scouts of the USA Collection.
New for the 2020 season, Build-A-Bear and Girl Scouts of the USA are teaming up to bring us the Girl Scouts Coconut Caramel Cookie Bear. Not only does this adorable bear mimic the petite cookie’s design with its caramel and chocolate-colored fur, but it can even be scented to smell exactly like the cult-favorite Samoa or Caramel deLites cookies.
The bears are currently available online. Build-A-Bear announced in an Instagram post that they’ll also be available in stores on Jan. 31.
(If you are wondering what the heck the difference is between Samoas and Caramel deLites, the answer is that it depends on what regionyou live in and what baker is providing the Girl Scout cookies you purchase. Although there are a few small differences in Samoas versus Caramel deLites, they taste mostly identical — unless you are a hardcore Girl Scout cookie connoisseur).
Build-A-Bear calls their new bear the “Coconut Caramel Cookie Bear,” but we won’t fault you if you rep your regional pride by calling it the “Samoa” or ” Caramel deLites” bear. A bear (without accessories or clothing or that yummy Coconut Caramel Cookie scent) is $22. Shop the collection here.
Depending on whether your favorite Scout is aDaisy, a Brownie, a Girl Scout, a Junior or a Cadette, you can pick an outfit to perfectly match your girl’s uniform. You can even personalize it by putting stickers with your Scout’s troop number on the bear’s vest!
You can buy the uniform pieces separately (for example, the Girl Scout Brownie vest is $10.00) or you can get the complete Girl Scouts Coconut Caramel Cookie Bear Brownie Gift Set. This comes with the bear, the vest, the two-piece Girl Scouts Skirt Outfit, Metallic Low Top Shoes and the Coconut Caramel Cookie Box Wrist Accessory for $57.50.
You can also choose cool accessories separately, like the Girl Scouts Coconut Caramel Cookie Box Wrist Accessory ($4) or Girl Scouts Smart Cookie Sleeper ($13.50), so your bear can rest after a hard day of slinging cookies.
Last year’s Thin Mints Cookie Bear is also available again, in case your cookie allegiance belongs to another Girl Scout offering. Here is the bear wearing the Cadette outfit. This gift set costs $51.50 on the Build-A-Bear site right now.
Build-A-Bear has been in the news quite a bit this week, thanks to their recent announcement that a Baby Yoda stuffed toy is coming in the next few months. So you might want to stop by before the crowd hits!
Are you planning to grab your child and get to your local store for the new Girl Scout bear?
