Disney’s live-action version of “The Lion King” has proven insanely popular before the movie even hits theaters. Cast photos and songs are already going viral, and the related merchandise is hitting stores now, too.
You can already buy a “Lion King” Monopoly game, and Build-A-Bear has released a new line of furry friends inspired by the beloved characters. But wait, there’s more!
Even Bloomingdale’s is getting in on the fun with a Lion King-inspired collection of their own, appropriately called Style Kingdom. You’ll find everything from clothing to jewelry, accessories and even kitchen utensils and fair-trade coffee in the collection, which includes products sourced from multiple regions in Africa by brands that empower local communities.
Florence Kasumba, a German-Ugandan actress who plays the role of Shenzi the hyena in the new film, serves as guest curator for the collection, using her knowledge of the film and her love of African fashion to identify select items that capture the spirit of the savanna.
“Being the guest curator for the Style Kingdom in The Carousel at Bloomingdale’s is an absolute thrill because I’ve been able to combine my love of fashion and film whilst connecting back to my African heritage,” Kasumba said in a press release. “I love how ‘The Lion King’ can be interpreted through this new lens and connect with audiences in a unique and fresh way. I felt such a personal connection to the pieces I curated and I can’t wait for people to see the collections and the movie!”
The collection also includes products featuring iconic characters and themes from the film, like a Simba handbag and a Circle of Life water bottle.
Take a look at just some of the items you can get in Bloomingdale’s new Style Kingdom collection:
