and last updated

Sangria is the perfect drink for summer. Light, fruity and refreshing, it’s a classic cocktail that will please every palette. But there is something daunting about making your own homemade sangria. It can be time-consuming to rinse, skin and chop all that fruit, especially if you are hosting a party and have a million other things to do.

Enter Aldi’s new sangria kits. Say sayonara to all that work! Now all you have to do is reach in your freezer and grab one of these handy-dandy frozen sangria kits. Starting June 12, check out your local Aldi’s frozen section to find Season’s Choice White Sangria Blend or Red Sangria Blend. Try one (or both) and discover just how easy summer hostessing can be.

The Red Sangria is a blend of rich, decadent fruit like oranges, dark sweet cherries, tart cherries, and blackberries, while the White Sangria Blend is made with light, crisp fruit like oranges, strawberries, pineapple and apples. At $3.49, these Aldi-exclusive SangriaBlends are available for a limited time only, so stock up while you can.

To make the Aldi sangria, just grab a bottle of white or red wine, then combine the fruit mixture with the alcohol in a pitcher. You don’t even need to defrost the fruit. It will naturally come to room temperature and help to chill your wine at the same time. You can still add ice if you desire.

You can also use these sangria kits to make a non-alcoholic mocktail. Instead of using wine, substitute white or red grape juice for a drink that kids and non-drinkers can enjoy too. Opt for sparkling grape juice to really make the mocktail special. And, of course, you can also use the frozen fruit for smoothies. You can even use the prebagged fruit to make Sangria cupcakes!

The options are endless. Best of all, frozen fruit doesn’t go bad or attract millions of annoying little fruit flies, so you have time to take it easy and enjoy the slow pace of summer.
