UPDATE: An arrest was made at IHS of a juvenile who brought a loaded magazine to a firearm to school, according to a post from the Iota Police.

"Let me be clear! We have not located a firearm, but out of an abundance of caution we will conduct a search. This is a very scary and inconvenient situation for everyone- faculty/staff, law enforcement as well as the students. Fortunately, we had plenty of help from APSO as well as Louisiana State Police. Please remain patient as we continue to clear the school and try to get life back to “normal “. The juvenile is currently on the way for booking procedures at the APSO jail. We will not be releasing the name of the suspect due to his age. Thanks for your patience and understanding," the post states.

Earlier, we reported that Iota High School was on lockdown Thursday morning after a report of a gun on or near campus.

Law enforcement received a call Thursday morning reporting that someone with a gun was spotted on or near the campus.

Law enforcement officers searched the school and the area, but as of 10:15 a.m. no weapons had been located.
