UPDATE: UPDATE - EMERGENCY CLOSURE: DOTD advises motorists that the LA 91 (Estherwood Pontoon Bridge) in Acadia Parish is closed to the traveling public, effectively immediately, due to a crash.
We will release additional information when it comes available. Please utilize an alternate route at this time.
Estherwood Police posted that the bridge could be inspected this morning. The bridge was closed at the end of February, after a truck hit it.

The Estherwood Pontoon Bridge is closed.
The state Department of Transportation and Development announced last night that the bridge is closed effective immediately.
The bridge, which is on La. 91, is closed due to a single vehicle crash, DOTD officials.
Estherwood Police posted a picture yesterday; it was an 18-wheeler that hit the bridge.
