Mamou council discussing pay raises

Posted

The Mamou Town Council voted to introduce a number of ordinances to give the mayor, police chief and full-time officers a pay raise.

Mamou’s Police Chief says if approved, the mayor’s pay will increase to $3,850 a month, and the police chief’s pay will increase to $3,600 a month. The ordinance will raise full-time officers’ pay from $11.25 an hour to $13.00 an hour. Each proposed ordinance will be voted on individually.

The next council meeting is scheduled for April 10.
