Krotz Springs tornado classified as an EF1

Among many of the flood and wind damage reports in Acadiana following Wednesday night’s into Thursday morning’s severe weather event, the National Weather Service performed a preliminary survey of the damage in Krotz Springs and determined it to be an EF1 tornado with 107 mph winds.

More scattered storms Friday…but they will be moving

After flooding rains of 4-12″ or more and severe storms across a good part of Acadiana Wednesday night into Thursday morning resulting in the flooding across the region, there has been a bit of a break Thursday afternoon before another couple of rounds of storms will be on the way late tonight into Friday.
