A man died this weekend after he was pinned between two vehicles in a grocery store parking lot, Rayne Chief of Police Carroll J. Stelly said.
The Rayne Police Department were called to the grocery store on South Adams Saturday afternoon. They found a man, and tried CPR on him, and he was transported to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital, Stelly said.
Although the investigation is not complete, early indications are that the man suffered a medical emergency while driving his car in the parking lot, then tried to get out of the car, which resulted in his being pinned, Stelly said.
The name of the victim will not be released until the next of kin are notified, the chief said.
The investigation is continuing at this time.
