Cane Cutters sign former STM Cougar, Cajuns’ Freshman Alex Hannie

YOUNGSVILLE, La. (July 19, 2018)- The Acadiana Cane Cutters have signed a new player, Alex Hannie, from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette (ULL). Hannie (Freshman at ULL) is from Lafayette and starred at St. Thomas More High School (STM). He was a four-year starter at STM and was an Honorable Mention All-American his senior year. He also earned all-state and all-district honors as a senior. Hannie plays both outfield and pitcher for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

METAIRIE, La — On Friday New Orleans Pelicans General Manager Dell Demps turned his attention to the future with the player introductions of former Lakers forward Julius Randle and Magic guard Elfrid Payton. Former Cajuns Star Elfrid Payton to Sign with Pelicans

Former Ragin’ Cajuns star Elfrid Payton agreed to a 1-year deal with the Pelicans Sunday night, according to ESPN. The New Orleans native has spent 4 years in the league. Payton started the 2017-18 season with Orlando, before being traded to Phoenix. He averaged 12.7 points, 6.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds last year. If the Pelicans don’t resign veteran Rajon Rondo, Payton could be a potential replacement at starting Point Guard.
